We had the pleasure to attend Lift conference 2014 last february the 6th 2014 in Geneva. You can find our short blog entry here and our pictures there. Below follows our detailed report. This conference discuss the topics of innovation and the future from a societal point of view, shifting perspective on the design and technology industries.

This year themes were the following:
• Managing Innovation Cycles – Let Live And Let Die
• Bio Hacking Or Tinkering With Life
• The Futures of Work
• The Sharing Economy Backlash
• Algorithmic culture: new forms of expression
• Translating Traditional Family Business
• Counter Culture Inspiring Industries

From our point of view we isolated three problematics:
• How does our growing algorithmic environment shift our cultural and societal paradigm?
• How do companies and the economy (global as well as local) evolve in our technological era?
• What are the new methods and processes at work in today’s innovation and development cycle? (Lire la suite…)

20/02/2014 Sociable Media @ Lift Conference 2014

2014.06.02-Lift2014-lia-05

We had the pleasure to attend Lift conference 2014 last february the 6th 2014 in Geneva. For this session, Sociable Media was represented by one of our team member who took part in the Lift Experience Exhibition along the HEAD–Media Design Exhibition. A second colleague, Lia Giraud, from the EnsadLab DiiP program (also part from the SACRe doctoral program) gave a talk on the current state of her researches. Lift start-up show was also the opportunity to meet ApeLab and their playful interactive narrations/installations.
We will soon post here our report on a selection of talks and workshops we attended.

And here is lift team wrap-up:
Every year so many great things happen at Lift! Since neither of us have ubiquitous powers, we captured off-stage stories on our storify & vine accounts. Plus, all Lift14 talks are available as single files on our livestream page. You can also check out our set of short clips by Romain Girard:
Bio Hackers VS Politicians
New York Times R&D Lab Worksnop Recap
Meet The BlabDroid Robot Reporters
Lego® Serious Play® Workshop Recap
Our photographer Ivo Naepflin has uploaded new pictures on our flickr page. They are published under a creative commons license, feel free to share! And of course, there is also theLift Instagram account. For the visual people among you we also highly recommend the collection of visual and typographic quotes by Geoffrey Dorne and the 78 live-sketches by Hélène Pouille.
Lastly we are collecting all media coverage from the 80 bloggers and journalists that attended Lift, we are now nearing 100 articles.
